Margie: In shocking news, did you know that Springfield has a new serial killer? Two, in fact. But don't worry — in an explosive police investigation yesterday, two people have been arrested for kidnapping and killing seven victims, including a member of the Springfield Police Department. While we are, unfortunately, keeping names of the killers under wraps until court proceedings begin, we have heard that both killers will be prosecuted in separate trials to the full extend. The house that was raided had extensive evidence against both killers, and law enforcement expect open-and-shut convictions in short order. A funeral for the fallen officer will be held this weekend. We go to on-scene reporter Charles Denver for more. CUTS TO:
Charles: Thanks Margie. I'm here at the sight of the murders, a secret- facility built underground in a seemingly normal neighborhood. While residents no longer have anything to fear, for years, these killers terrorized the streets of Springfield. Nearly six years ago, Jake Drazzer, a young man from only a few blocks away, became the first victim. Kidnapped in the dead of night and injected with a concoction we now know contained chemotherapy medication, Fentanyl and blood thinners, Drazzer was tortured for days until his body finally gave out. Thus began the rampage of the Purple Body Killers, or one of them at least.
Charles: It wasn't until recently that this dangerous partnership came to a head, as six more victims were claimed, and countless already- deceased bodies were experimented on to find the perfect torture mixture. In fact, Springfield News Channel 16 has a full documentary investigation coming to look into the series of murders. Tune in next Thursday for the series premiere. Until then, try not to die.
